Josh
Josh grew up with a passion for cooking and started working in the food and beverage industry while he was in High School in California. Josh has kept his love for cooking throughout his entire adult life and military career as a Navy SEAL. Josh has cooked for his teammates in many different austere environments around the globe and has loved every opportunity to expand and challenge his passion of cooking for others. He had a special talent for cooking for large groups and special events with 100 plus people. His retirement dream has been to open a catering company that specializes in large parties. In early 2024, his wife, Deirdre, convinced him to take a chance early and Conks Smokehouse Creations was born in April 2024. His dream is now a reality and continues to grow bigger by the day.
Deirdre
Deirdre has an extensive background in food and beverage management as she was a food and beverage director for multiple country clubs right out of college. After transitioning from the corporate world, she has also opened numerous highly successful businesses as a self employed entrepreneur. Her expansive knowledge in business and sales allows her a special ability to customize events that cater to individual customer needs. Deirdre has spent the last 16 years working as a Realtor in Hampton Roads and continues to achieve the highest honors for sales and client satisfaction. Creativity is her passion and Conks Smokehouse Creations is a new adventure that affords her the opportunity to create and implement an awesome food experience for the customer while working alongside her husband and family.
Family Owned Veteran Business
Conks Smokehouse Creations is a family run and operated veteran business. The entire family helps out in various ways and each person contributes something unique and special.
Josh is the "meat man" and handles all the meat seasoning and smoking. Deirdre handles all of the handcrafted sides and is our master creator of sweet desserts and truck special features.
Kain and Kash (our sons) help with some creative ideas and mostly utilize their skills as taste testers and constant entertainment. Emersyn (our niece) will mostly likely be seen as the master operator of the snow cone machine or working the register to greet customers and take orders. Mama Love (the best Mom Ever) is our universal helper. She is always the supportive soul that embraces the constant chaos and is willing to help in any capacity she is needed.
